It’s far too easy in our culture to be caught up in the hustle of the game. Making the most money, having the biggest house, wearing the nicest clothes. And while there’s that side to me as an entrepreneur, it should never be someone’s entirety. Without sitting in gratitude for the things that we have, we run the risk of becoming so power hungry we sacrifice the most important things in our lives – our family, friends and morals.
As a fellow human who struggles with clinical anxiety, believe me when I say, I’m not always sunshine and roses. There are plenty of “why me’s?” and “that’s not fairs!!” that creep into my thought processes. But this simple sign sits on a shelf in the small kitchen of my perfectly average farmhouse serves as a reminder that I’m pretty damn lucky.
So this week’s post comes with a challenge. Sit in your gratitude. Looks around you. Pick three things you’re grateful for. Do that every day until Thanksgiving. The hustle will always be there, but I bet if you look a little closer, you’ll find that you already have the most important pieces. And even if the rest doesn’t work out, that’s enough.
